In the current attempt to promote domestic tourism during the pandemic, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), hotels and airlines are providing exclusive 'Expat Travel Incentive' offers to international citizens.
Both foreigners living in Thailand and their families are free, the announcement stated.
At any of over 300 participating hotels in destinations across the country, they will earn a 1,000 Baht discount every night reserved. The more nights they spend, the greater the benefit of the discount they get, said the promotion announcement.
This refers to stays at participating Thai Hotels Association (THA) hotels and to Bangkok Airways, AirAsia and Nok Air travel.
From the list of participating hotels, all of which are approved and accredited THA members, expatriates will select a hotel they want to see.
Expats then call the hotel directly and show their passport to obtain the 1,000 Baht discount for each room night reserved while booking as evidence of expat status. The discount is available on stays until Dec 31, the announcement stated.
Up to 50 percent off airfares and deals for all domestic flights are offered and discount vouchers are given for direct booking with participating hotels and airlines per room per night beginning at 900 baht. (below continues)
Thai hotels need all the assistance they can get with very minimal travel from abroad, so there's never been a better opportunity for expats to help out and experience a great value holiday at the same time,' said Marisa Sukosol Nunbhakdi, President of the Thai Hotels Association. I am glad that the association will be a part of the initiative.
