𝐴𝑢𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑐 𝑀𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑖𝑠 a meditative, intuitive, improvisational movement practice involving
• a mover, a witness, and the space of emptiness.
• to discover what can happen when you close your eyes, listen and wait for your body to move.
• a practice of listening, attunement; slowing, and opening to deeper sensing of body and psyche.
• opening the doorway of witnessing and being witnessed non-judgmentally, with open, spacious, and compassionate curiosity.
• integration and reflection of the process are as crucial as movement exploration.
𝐼𝑡 𝑤𝑎𝑠 𝑑𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 dancer and psychotherapist Mary Starks Whitehouse, who, following her work with Carl Jung, became curious about moving without intention, or the practice of "waiting to be moved."
Can you allow the external to drop away, open to your inner world, and trust the ancient and present-moment wisdom that resides in your body? Moving in the presence of a receptive witness, one can open to and tune into body sensation, organic movement, emotion, and imagination. With roots in dance, Jungian Psychology, and Dance/Movement Therapy, Authentic Movement can be a potent therapeutic, spiritual, and artistic resource.

is a somatic therapist and water contact dancer. She is deeply committed to creating a safe and supportive space for participants to explore their inner landscapes and cultivate self-awareness.
In Karina's AM sessions, the focus is on witnessing and acknowledging the inner witness, as well as witnessing others in a nonjudgmental and compassionate manner. By moving with eyes closed, participants are encouraged to process what is most relevant for them in the present moment, allowing for a deeper connection with their intuition, authenticity, and freedom.
