For travelers to Koh Phangan, Haad Rin beach is synonymous with late night beach bars and the infamous Full Moon Party. You can often at times find guests from Phanganist Hostel and other places tearing up the sandy oceanfront dance floor of Drop In Bar—the well known and biggest party spot on Haad Rin beach— just after midnight. And when it comes up in conversation, most stories that happen in Haad Rin are after the sun has gone down and the moon is on full display.
However, what guests on this beautiful island soon find out after arriving, is that Haad Rin beach is much more than a late night party spot. Actually, you are really doing yourself a disservice if you don’t pop by in the afternoon for a day of fun in the sun on this beach. Not only does it have clear waters and super soft sand that makes you want to lounge in it all day, but there are tons of shops, restaurants, small beach bars for a fruity beverage, and tattoo parlors if you feel it’s finally time to get a permanent reminder of the beautiful days and fun nights you’ve spent here on Koh Phangan.
Haad Rin is a perfect place to laze about during the day and is very accessible by taxi, boat, and motorbike (though do be careful and take it slow when motorbiking there from elsewhere on the island as the road is a bit windy). And if you feel like you need a bit of thrill in your life, the big bay of calm waters is perfect for jet skiing which is offered there. The prices are listed by duration of the ride in 15 minute increments. And the experience is honestly very thrilling! If you love the wind in your hair as you pick up a bit of speed going downhill on a motorbike, you are going to absolutely love jet skiing, especially off of
Haad Rin Beach because, unlike in other beach destinations that offer jet skis, the bay is huge with little to no other traffic beside one or two others also out on jet skis.
Spend a day on Haad Rin beach relaxing and hop on a jet ski for an extra dose of adrenaline. After you grab your dinner at a nearby beach restaurant then you can wander over to a bar and join in on the nightly parties and fire shows that happen at Drop In Bar. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
