What is your name and where are you from?
Parama is from Turkey. Ram Avnur is from Israel.
What is the name of your workshop and can you please explain the event?
Taste of Tantra.
A two-day intensive workshop.
This workshop, open to both singles and couples, is for those who wish to understand Tantric spirituality and experience why Tantra is a unique, life-embracing approach compared to more mainstream, ascetic, and repressive spiritual traditions.
Students will learn both theoretical and practical elements to understand how to use sexuality as a spiritual path, in adherence to the most ancient tradition of Tantra. The practices are supported through the use of Hatha Yoga.
What do you think an individual can gain from your workshop?
An understanding of the philosophy and mentality of Tantra. How to integrate Tantric sexuality in their lives and relationships. Learn the basic skills required to become a Tantric practitioner. Have a good taste of Tantric life-style through esoteric teachings, Hatha Yoga and other practices such as transfiguration.
And what uniqueness will you personally bring to this event?
Being Scorpio and Pisces teachers brings us the charm of the mystical match of water element. In esoteric astrology water is the dwelling place of sexuality and creativity in the human being.
We will bring both juiciness and deep emotions together with the clarity coming from long years of our immersion in Tantra.
How long have you been practicing Yoga?
8 years.
What is your area of specialty?
Parama- Hatha Yoga, Tantra, Sacred femininity, Shamanism, Sufism, Kashmiri Shaivism.
Ram- Hatha Yoga, Tantra, Astrology, Masculinity, Kundalini Yoga, Kashmiri Shaivism.
In your words, can you please describe this specific area of Yoga?
Parama - All these different paths lead to the same top of the mountain; to the pure awareness of Divine consciousness which is manifested through this beautiful temple that we call ‘human body’. Self-awareness, true love and humbleness has always been great sources of support and inspiration on my spiritual path.
How did you get involved with Agama and how did you end up on Koh Phangan?
Parama- I met with the teachings of Agama in Turkey and have done my first Agama Tantra workshop with Swami in 2010 in Istanbul. I was fascinated by the teachings and this actually led me to change my life completely.
In 2 months I arranged to move to Koh Phangan to delve deeper into the world of Yoga and Tantra. Since then I am happily working to learn and teach more and more each day.
Ram - I was lost and unsure about my life after the military service, which lead to a ‘find myself’ journey to India. I found Agama in Rishikesh in 2008 and fell in love. I decided to stay forever.
If you like, tell us your Koh Phangan story...
Ram - I came to Koh Phangan to study yoga, it became my home and community.
Parama – Same same but different
And leave us with your personal Yogi Philosophy...
Ram - Accept yourself the way you are today and strive to become the best possible version of yourself in the future.
Parama – Never stop having faith in the miracle of love, act with self-awareness and be the change you want to see in the world.
