8-Bit Bangkok - Atari Night

28 Aug 19:08

Koh Phangan

The long awaited Atari Night is here, one of the most iconic and seminal video game consoles. The Atari 2600 released in 1977, popularised the likes of Pong, Breakout, Space Invaders and Pac Man. We'll play many of the greatest games of the era, and, maybe, a few of the stinkers that contributed to the Great Video Game Crash of 1983!

We will be playing a host of Atari games on original hardware as well as emulated versions, focusing on multiplayer games, classic games and a few homebrews thrown in for laughs.

Hosted by Jon Scott & Chris Tophe.

PLAYING CONSOLES
● Atari 7800
● Atari 2600
● PC - Atari Emulation
● Raspberry Pi - Retro Pie

GAMES INCLUDING (and probably many more):
● Warlords
● Medieval Mayhem
● Circus Atari
● River Raid
● Rampart
● Asteroids
● Halo 2600 (homebrew)
● Stay Frosty 2 (homebrew)

If you have any Atari 2600 or 7800 games please feel free to bring them in.

ATARI FACTS
Atari 2600 sold over 30 million consoles, had a massive 128 Bytes of on-board RAM and featured a blistering fast 1.19 Mhz custom CMOS CPU! Atari launched an industry, and some might say, almost killed it.

Video games will be played on a big projector screen.

8-Bit Bangkok is a group with a shared interest of video gaming, aliens, VHS nostalgia and comics.

We get together to play retro videos games once a month at JAM. Super Nintendo, Atari, Master System, Sega Saturn, whatever.
