Hi Chiang Mai friends!
Have you ever wondered what is going on on the four floors of our building?
Did you even know there were four floors in our building?
Would you like to see our Charity Donation Center and where we sort and package all of the donations of Pre Loved Charity Items that you give us?
Would you like to see our language and arts learning center, Thai Freedom House that Free Bird Cafe helps to support?
Our friend and artist Nick Reale has created an amazing, detailed map of our space and our work to outline it all for you, this new illustration will proudly hang in Free Bird Cafe and we would like to Unveil it for you on Sat. 9 Dec, 2017 AND we are going to open the building for you, that's right, an OPEN HOUSE PARTY!
Come and see this new incredible, illustrative artwork, take a tour of our building and meet the artist, Nick Reale. We will have prints available for purchase as well.
FREE snacks too!
11am: doors open, cafe will not be open until then.
All day: Snacks, tour of the building, limited cafe menu available, all drinks available.
All day: Interactive art workshops in our learning center on the third floor.
1pm: Informative talk by our founder Lisa Nesser about the work that we do (held upstairs in the learning center). You can ask all of your questions about our project!
A bit about Nick:
Nick Reale was born on a busy archipelago off the cost of America, and has been making maps ever since. He also writes stories. Takes photos. Draws illustrations. Doesn’t wear a tie. Climbs tall objects. Can do funny things with his voice. Struggles to answer messages promptly. Gets lost. Gets found. He’s keenly interested in how we relate to each other, to our environment, and to our shared history. He’s been working out of a dilapidated mansion in Chiang Mai for two years now.
