8-bit Bangkok - Makey Makey Night

Koh Phangan

Makey Makey is a crowd funded USB circuit board invented by American Jay Silver that turns any object that can conduct electricity into computer keyboard key.

Our host for the night Florian, an interactive specialist, has devised for us some intuitive, different ways to play classic video games using Makey Makey. Such as Mario where you must physically jump in real life for Mario to jump in the game, or Pong where you must move from side to side to move the paddle, or 2 player Tetrix where both players need to clap hands to rotate the blocks.

If you are a Makey Makey maker and have a cool idea for a game, please feel free to bring it in, or any fun Makey Makey projects you would like to share with us.

Video games will be played on a big projector screen.

8-Bit Bangkok is a group with a shared interest of video gaming, aliens, VHS nostalgia and comics.

We get together to play retro videos games once a month at JAM. Super Nintendo, Atari, Master System, Sega Saturn, whatever.
