Just off of the wooden pier in Mae Haad on Koh Tao you will find ‘Tattoo Bar’, a chilled restaurant and bar with a beautiful view over the ocean with traditional thai fishing boats adorning the turquoise waters right in view.
Phanganist stopped off to visit Andy whilst we were on a little tour of the island.
Owner Andy is a chilled out as they come and enjoys his life on Koh Tao very much so…
‘We don’t have a particular theme or story to the bar but it’s a relaxing place as is Koh Tao as a whole’.
Tattoo Bar has a nice large dining area with a large welcoming bar and the walls are adorned with Thai and Australian artwork which would make sense given Andy’s heritage.
‘The food we do is Thai and Western and we are renowned for our steaks. We are a relaxed place so it is ideal for families, nice and chilled to come and watch sunset.
We used to be different but we have mellowed a bit more now’.
You can chose to take your dinner at a table or relax on traditional thai cushions on the floor overlooking the sea, all whilst knowing that you can stay relaxed to enjoy a nice cold beer or one of their famous steaks.
