What is your Koh Phangan Story?
This is my first time in Koh Phangan and I hope not the last. So far this has been a totally different experience from the one I expected and from the ones I had on my journey so far.
People, culture, food, nature, customs. Everything is breathtaking, one of the spots you once visit and always come back to.
When did you start Djing?
My first touch with mixing and Djing was back in 2003, with my soul mate and best friend Jovan. We decided to become Djs in a time when we didn’t even know how to play.
We got asked for a gig, and we had a week to learn how to play and mix music. After that party we bought players and all what was needed for an early start.
How and where did you learn?
Back then there was no one to show you how to play, In my small town we had only one guy that was a Dj, and he helped in the beginning. Later on Jovan and I practiced alone.
What are your main influences/inspiration?
Influences are Pink Floyd, Tristan , Hallucinogen and many more.
Inspirations are definitely Nature, good festivals, good vibes and people I meet.
What is special for you about Shiva Moon?
Partying in the jungle, real deep nature, beautiful smiling people, truly positive energy. That is how I see underground.
There is a spectacular flow, I was delighted. What more do you need...
What are your projects for 2016?
We want to keep Middle Mode evolving, so we hope to visit new places, meet new people, always in search for new experiences. We are planning some new collaborations as well, new EP's etc.
Besides our joint Middle Mode project, Jovan and I have started the work on two new solo projects - Resonant (Jovan) and Reversed Logic (me). Tracks are in process, rhythm is similar to what you are used to with Middle Mode, but you can expect a stronger and faster beat, a more acidic sound...
What do you do in your free time on Koh Phangan?
Since it’s my first time here I explored nature with my friends. I was lucky to meet a lot of my old pals here and many more new friends and lovely energies.
Where do you see yourself in say, five years?
He-he maybe here again, Thailand is really great. I guess in five years I see myself still traveling, exploring, playing, creating, evolving…that’s what makes me happy!
And that’s my only criteria for the future.
What is your life philosophy?
Life is a constant process of learning and growing .Do whatever makes you happy, stay healthy and safe. Be light and light will come to you when you need it.
