Full on Sound Psytrance with DJ Note

Welcome back to Phanganist! What has changed since we last saw you?
A lot of things on the music front, I am now working with Magic Phangan Productions, it’s the Blackmoon Culture, Ban Sabaii and The Experience Festival’s production team.

I have had my full live act for two years now so I play all my music live but still doing dj sets on the island. I have taken my live act overseas which is exciting for me but I still always enjoy playing my dj sets at home, home on Koh Phangan.

I have finished the studio for Magic Phangan, a new studio and started working on my upcoming first full album which will be released on the Magic Phangan label

Cool, so tell us what we can expect from the album…
It’s going to be ‘night, full on sound’ Psytrance.

What have you used for inspiration?
My inspiration comes from dance floor experience from my own dj sets, I try to find the way that people like and then learn from this. I find the sound people like and that I know is working.

Tell us a bit about ‘Magic Phangan’?
Magic Phangan Production is the team behind Blackmoon Culture, The Experience Festival and Ban Sabaii, it’s the main job we have done for many years.

Something new for Magic Phangan which we’re working on is the record label, we already have three CD’s releases but this year we will be working on it even more!

You are now a resident at Blackmoon, what do you like about playing there?
The good vibration on the dancefloor, it is a Quality party, great people, music direction and decoration style.

What is special about Blackmoon?
It’s on the beach and it’s one of the first Trance parties on Koh Phangan, it’s been going over fifteen years.

Also the music style, there’s a great mix of thai and international artists for the Trance scene, plus the decoration really is amazing.

So have you enjoyed playing overseas?
Yes for sure, my favourite party overseas was in Israel because it was the best energy on the dancefloor I have seen, it came from the energy of the people. On Koh Phangan my favourite dancefloor is Ban Sabai as this is comparable to my Israel experience.

I like to see the different people and different cultures when going overseas.

Do you think Phangan is a good place for Trance?
Yes definitely, it’s not only good for Trance but I think it’s great on Koh Phangan.

There’s lots of party people around and Psytrance is one of the first styles of music that made Phangan become like how it is but for sure not just Trance music alone.

What are your main projects this year?
My ‘Note (live act)’ is the main project of this year, I will try to take it to more places overseas and continue developing my set and the live show to make it more interesting with many different types of equipment etc…

Why has this island kept you?
It’s still one of the special places in my heart, I said this last time and it’s still true now.

It’s the place I grew up personally and where I grew up in my music, even though I was born in Bangkok I can say that I ‘grew up’ on Koh Phangan.

What would you say to aspiring djs?
Just keep doing what you love, if you keep doing what you love then it can be done.

Where do you go on Koh Phangan to relax?
Most of the time I stay at home, sometimes go to the beach with my wife of course but I like being at home relaxing. I don’t go to party if it’s not for work, ‘it’s a shame’.
