~Now I'm fading out of my sadness of leaving Europe, and back into my love for Thailand…being back in Bangkok, at my favOrite hole in the wall hotel named Rainbow Guest House, near the famous Koh San Road……is anything but it's name.
..I stay here every time i'm in Bangkok, and I don't know why, but I just love it…
..it reminds me of the real rawness of being a traveler, a backpacker that hasn't been home in 3 years, and haha I may be crazy but I love it…too many steep stairs up too many floors in slender hallways you can barely fit in with your backpack, with it's tiny windowless rooms with peeling paint and stained walls, the smell of mould and water in the air, a fan covered in cob webs and dust that doesn't cool you off in this humid heat, rusty crooked hard beds that all cave in in the middle and bed sheets that never stay on the mattress when you lay down, rickety balconies overlooking the fabulous, crowded, crazy, dirty, colorful, asian streets of Bangkok…
…with all it's overwhelming portable food carts selling weird gooey things and fishy things and saucy meaty things that I still don't know what half of them are and always mystery fruits i've never seen or tried before …
..old thai ladies sending me smiles with the meeting of eyes….tuk tuk and taxi drivers that say the most ridiculous things to get your attention makes me laugh, and finally one of my favorite meals - fried chicken with a small bag of sticky rice and fried onions, a bag full of spicy nam jim sauce, and a fresh watermelon shake…
.. I do love Thailand….thank you for embracing me in your sweaty loving arms again.
.. i've missed you.
