Rony came to Phangan few years ago when one friend of him rented a resort on Koh Phangan and invited him to manage the marketing department.

Hi Rony, thank you for this interview. How did you start your art?

I opened with some friends an "open-air tea-house" in Baan Tai (Luana  Andrea, the Alien Sistars, painted for us “Bodhidharma and the Emperor”) and I bought bronze kettle to boil water on a fire. I was taking picture of the kettle on a fire and I noticed how the light around changes depend on the Moon phase. Phangan is well connected to the Moon and its effects are so much stronger here. I don't know why but it is the truth!

One night, when Jupiter illuminated half of the night sky…I noticed that the fire can either be slow or quick, either yellow and red… Fire and light are alive, these elements are the most essential part of life.

What does your art mean to you?
It's kind of meditational practice. I give space to the chosen objects, and they are creating the scene by themselves.

While playing with a camera, the world looks like eternal games of fire and water in its many forms. We are consisting of fire and water (according to Hippocrates) and we can see how they both create and influence the world around them.

It is easier to see at night-time, because the sky is infinite. That’s why, during the day, in ancient world, it was a tradition to make ritual “smoke-fires” as its hard to see the fire on a sunny day.

How can you describe it?
It’s a night art. To see the picture we can use other life light such as candle, oil lamps…

What do you think is special about your art?
It is all about Live colours. I noticed that the fire world is too fast for our eye, we can’t catch it, we can only see the burning.

Finding the right rhythm of motion, we can observe it and it is amazing.

What projects are you working on these days?
I am still working in the holiday property marketing business. I just completed with my partners a web-solution site, which allows the local properties to connect with tourists directly, avoiding the booking websites and saving commission fees.

We will launch a web-solution site for Koh Phangan very soon.

What are your next projects?
My Next project is a Big dream – a worldwide tree ownership program. We are preparing a database about cacao and tea trees, where you can own your unique tree and/or products for years.

In the future,  I can see it bigger including some very old trees without any harvest. People can buy and take care of them, first for the prestige and then because they love it .

You can check our website  for more details

It's eco friendly as our current efforts can save the ecology and the planet wherever you are.

When you work in sales, you realize that the richer people become, the more you spend money for useless products like imported cars, villas and technology gadget.

Working in marketing, we have the possibility to make people buy responsibly.

What have you learn from Koh Phangan?
I appreciate every aspect of Koh Phangan. I feel lucky to be able to appreciate every moment here: one of the Phangan lessons I have learnt. We are looking at the external world to optimize our internal feeling. Phangan shows me that the opposite way much better – even on Phangan.

What is your favourite place on Koh Phangan?
There are so many places I like. Phangan is a big favourite place for me. I can’t say that I prefer some hidden spots to the most famous as for me, the best sunrise is on Haad Rin beach and I enjoy watching the sunset in Baan Tai beach.

What is your life philosophy?
Look at the life with baby eyes without any expectations, predictions or barriers.

Life itself has a nature of water, some poets compare life it with a river. What do you enjoy to view more – a river or a canal?
