Jungle Tribe Welcomes Alex Martin on his debut at Jungle Experience Oct15th!

Part of the KL-Phangan connection DJ Alex Martin is a well-known visitor on Koh Phangan and can often be found at Quinte KL DJ Kuma's side at Underground House parties and festivals on the island. 

Jungle Experience has had the pleasure of Alex's VIP company before, but Oct 15th is the first time that Jungle welcomes Quinte KL's owner and resident as DJ!

A natural musician, Alex Martin developed a passion for House Music in the mid 2000's, and by 2010 he was playing to big-room audiences at Desire in Heritage Row, KL.

By 2011 he was veering more towards the Underground, and in the last few years he has graced the DJ podium with names such as Marco Bailey, Graham Gold, and Nakadia - and this month with Randy Seidman at Jungle Experience!

Hailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Alex is jetting in from Beijing this week, where he just played a rare underground gig in the privately hired KTV rooms.

Alex spared some time out of his busy schedule in China to fill us in on his coming Koh Phangan visit!

Hi Alex! We are happy to welcome you to Jungle Experience on Oct 15th! Can you tell us what your connection is to the scene here?

I've been frequent to Phangan for a few years now, and have been drawn to the island ever since my first trip. I have loads of friends here, be it residents, DJs etc., and I'm also part of the KL-Phangan connection.

What can we expect from you at your Jungle performance?

An epic time!

What do YOU expect from your Jungle appearance?

I'm really looking forward to playing with Randy again! The last time he was here in Kuala Lumpur, we brought the house down till the break of dawn!! Or was it midday...? lol. Great people + great music = EPIC!!!

Do you have other plans to play on Phangan?

I'll be playing the Sramanora Waterfall on 17th oct and most probably I'll be back in Phangan in December for Christmas

.

What is the best thing you ever been involved with or done?

I think it would be Quinte, Kuala Lumpur. It's an underground house club that I opened 3 years ago, together with DJ Kuma (Vimal Kuma) and it became an institution dedicated to the underground house scene in KL. We also had many DJ exchanges between KL and Phangan.


Future projects?

*NEWSFLASH*  We are opening **Quinte Academy** hopefully by the end of the year. It's a DJ school, production school, and label. And hopefully to make sort of a 'pirate radio station' dedicated to the underground scene! This project will be with myself, Naq I freakdarhytme and Kuma.

Which music did you bring in your record bag for Phangan?

Hmmm... HOUSE!!




Major music influences are Mark Farina, Phunk Investigation, Rasmus Faber, Tocadisco, Laidback Luke, Deadmau5, and many more. Currently has produced 6 singles.
