There are very few places in the world where one can witness hundreds of people dancing and partying in the middle of the Jungle, but fortunately Koh Phangan is one of those places.
Twice a month deep in the jungle of the island an event dubbed Jungle Experience is thrown where a few hundred music lovers painted as if a tribe of neon warriors gather in communion to celebrate electronic music.
I arrived during the 2nd half of DJ ACROBAT’s astounding opening set.
Acrobat took us on a journey with deep heart pumping house beats setting a great tone for the rest of the night.
For sure one of the best opening sets I’ve ever had the pleasure of hearing at Jungle Experience.
His meticulous attention to the subtle nuances of a track are apparent in his style of mixing.
Next on the decks was Filippo Calvenzi , one of the islands local favorites.
Filippo stepped the energy up quite a few notches like house music NOS tank sending the dancers to the peak of electronic pulsation!
Joe Rickard set stabilized the vibe into a comfortable groove bringing us some of his very unique and tasty beats.
Jungle Experiences last sets were infiltrated by Koh Phangan’s infamous FUBAR CREW whose members include Guy Fidelity & Kaonashi.
Kaonashi , also one of my favorite DJs on the island, brought sexy to the jungle in the form of euphoric, groovy and a splash of funky tracks that were mixed till the parties end.
A nice way to round out the night and come down from your musical or otherwise induced high.
It’s no surprise why many are calling Jungle Experience the future of Koh Phangan after one has the pleasure of experiencing what I experienced that night amongst the trees and dance warriors of the night!
