Koh Phangan
Hard pounding beats and overflowing buckets being spilled on neon uniforms for the brigade of Koh Phangan’s indulgent youth who fly from the far corners of the world in search of a place where the rules are few and the drinks are plenty.
Half Moon Music & Dance Festival , for this night, served as the meeting ground for these enthusiastic and painted dance warriors of the night!
From the moment I crossed the ticket gate I felt as though I was entering into a new dimension; a dimension where unity and debauchery were somewhat innate and shared by all who entered.
The main stage area was set a blaze by laser lights and structures that seemed straight out of a science fiction film. It looked like an alien spacecraft had landed and was providing all who would climb aboard an experience that was both unique and overflowing with pleasure for all senses.
I was very impressed with TRIPICAL’s set which featured a unique style of psytrance that seemed more euphoric then hard pounding.
His music was more melodic & harmonic then most psytrance that I have had the pleasure of hearing live.
Israel came correct on this night sending two of its legends( ANALYZER & Psychraft) to our stranded island. I believe the night belonged to ANALYZER and his arsenal of mind-altering beats and life altering blowups!
Just one look into the eyes of any of the abducted youth swarming the dance area and you were sure that this DJ was ONTO something and it was making all of us feel like we were ON something!
The future of Half Moon Music & Dance Festival looks promising and their stronghold on the late night psytrance scene seems to be getting stronger by the month.
I look forward to see in which ways this communal gathering will evolve and how those who have the fortune of attending will react and be affected by its metamorphosis!
